Marine Institute celebrates 2022 graduates

It’s graduation time at the Fisheries and Marine Institute (MI) of Memorial University. Students will be receiving diplomas and certificates during the 2022 graduation ceremony scheduled for Friday, June 24.

The event will take place at 2 p.m. in the gymnasium of MI’s Ridge Road campus in St. John’s.

The ceremony will include remarks from: the Honourable Tom Osborne, minister of education, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador; Dr. Vianne Timmons, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University; Dr. Rob Shea, vice-president, Memorial University (Marine Institute); and Nathan Mullins, student speaker who is graduating from the nautical science program.

During Memorial’s recent spring convocation, 92 bachelor’s and master’s degrees were presented to Marine Institute graduates.

As part of MI’s graduation celebration activities, students, friends and family are invited to share their graduation congratulations, photos and special moments via social media using the hashtag #MIgrad2022. The ceremony will be broadcast live on www.mi.mun.ca beginning at 2 p.m. (NDT) and archived on the Marine Institute’s YouTube channel for future viewing.
