National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Sept. 30

September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – a time to reflect on the history and legacy of residential schools throughout the country.Orange shirt day-NDTR

It is also Orange Shirt Day, which is an Indigenous-led initiative to recognize and raise awareness of the intergenerational impacts of residential schools on individuals, families and communities. Learn more in the Gazette.

On Sept. 29, the Marine Institute hosts an information booth in the main lobby and an information display in the Dr. C.R. Barrett Library.

Students, faculty and staff are also encouraged to participate in a walk to Juniper House, starting 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Bruneau Centre on Memorial’s St. John’s campus.
