Q&A: What is it like to be a ship's captain?
Thursday, January 19, 2012

After the Costa Concordia cruise ship tipped over off the Tuscan coast, much blame has been laid on the captain of the ship. Officials allege the captain made an unauthorized diversion in the route, quickly abandoned ship and would not go back to help organize the evacuation.

Captain Christopher Hearn, director for the Centre for Marine Simulation at Memorial University's Marine Institute, will join the Globe and Mail today at 1:30 p.m. (NL time) to take your questions during a live discussion on the life, code, and responsibilities of a ship's captain.
