How can I publish my research in the JOT?
The JOT publishes essays that highlight selected themes in a concise manner, and peer-reviewed technical papers that describe cutting edge research in the chosen theme area. Essays should be both educational and thought-provoking, and no longer than 3,000 words in length. Peer-reviewed technical papers should present the results of new research in ocean technology, science or engineering, and be no more than 7,500 words in length. Is the JOT recognized academically?
The JOT is an open access publication, which means that all technical papers published in the JOT are available online to anyone, anywhere in the world. The JOT has been providing unrestricted access to peer-reviewed research in the field of ocean technology since Volume 1, Number 1, 2006. The JOT is also indexed with Scopus, one of the largest abstract and citation databases of peer-reviewed research literature and quality web sources. The JOT is also included in EBSCO, Elsevier and Google Scholar. Such indexing allows us to further disseminate scholarly content to a larger market; helps authenticate the myriad of research activities taking place around the globe; and provides increased exposure to our authors and editors.
How can I become a member of the reviewers’ panel?
The JOT production team invites ocean technology experts to serve as members of the JOT reviewers’ panel. In this role, members will be asked to conduct extensive reviews on submitted technical papers and make recommendations on publication. If you are interested in serving as a member of this panel, please use our contact form.
How can I become a member of the international editorial board?
The editorial board reviews technical papers and provides advice and input to ensure that the JOT maintains and increases its position as a high quality, international scientific periodical. Editorial board members are appointed for two-year terms. The membership reflects the diversity of the ocean technology sector and includes members who have experience relevant to the focus of the JOT.
