Gifts in Memoriam
Memorial gifts are a wonderful way to honour a family member, friend, teacher or colleague who passed away. Your gift pays tribute to their influence and legacy in your life and can be made to any area at the Marine Institute that is close to your heart.
If you would like to make a gift in memory of a friend or loved one online, simply indicate the name of the person you would like to remember on our online donation page. If mailing your gift, you can include this information in the note section of your cheque or on this form. Should you like someone to be notified of your thoughtful gift, please include their name and contact information and we will be happy to send an acknowledgment to them (without mentioning the donation amount).
Some people choose to create a memorial fund to support a scholarship or award in memory of a loved one, creating a lasting tribute that will recognize the person’s legacy for years to come. You may set up a named award to be presented annually for a number of years or establish an endowed award that can be awarded to students in perpetuity. Family and friends are able to contribute to the memorial fund as well and will receive a charitable tax receipt for their gift.
