Commissioned in 2019, the Heritage Class Ship's Bridge simulator is used to replicate operations of an offshore shuttle tanker. Fitted with realistic equipment and a visualization system, the Heritage Bridge simulator is integrated with the CMS Full Motion Bridge and the Offshore Operations simulator to allow for interaction between vessel to recreate joint operations including ship to ship transfer,  towing, or joint exercises. In addition to its use in shuttle tanker operations and dynamic positioning training, the Heritage Bridge simulator is also used for BRM, Leadership and Management, Advanced Ship Maneuvering, and Polar Navigation.

Features of this simulator include:

  • Simulation software - Kongsberg KSIM Version 2.6.10
  • Specialized control systems for offshore tanker operations
  • Approval through DNV and the Nautical Institute for Dynamic Positioning training
  • Reference systems for offshore loading (Artemis, DARPS, DGPS, Radius)
  • Dynamic Positioning - Kongsberg KPOS Version 8.2
  • Visual system - 13 channel LCD flat panels, 220 degree horizontal field of vision
  • Chart tables with emulated navigation equipment
  •  Electronic Chart Systems (ECS)
  • In-house hydrodynamic and geographical database modelling capabilities
